French Friday #20: Mystery and Serenity

Have you ever seen something so beautiful that it makes your heart ache? A scene so exquisite that you wish time could stop, but you know it won’t, so you try to absorb everything around you to preserve the memory. (All photos are mine or my family’s).

Mont Saint-Michel. Looking out to sea at low tide.

Eglise St. Léonard in Fougères.

On the grounds at Chantilly.

A pietà in the Eglise St. Germain l'Auxerrois in Paris.

The American Cemetery above Omaha Beach in Normandy.
